It as a little frustrating to read the news paper today. Discussing the merits of the debate last night, and how it was a a good exchange.

I think they must have watched a different debate, because dubya got bitch slapped in the dabate I watched. He squirmed, sweated, made funny faces, at one point look blankly into the camera for a full five seconds, attempted to cut in during moments of desperation and made sure we all knew that being president is "hard hard work".

The at one point he turned the water works on, "and we prayed and we cried and huged". Oh, fucking puke pile on a plate of rotten fish!

My favorite was when dubya said the we attacked Iraq be because iraq attacked us, then Kerry dropped the hammer on his little stupid ass.

And what the heck was that little rant about disrespecting Poland's troops in Iraq? Ya thats right...good thing Poland is on our side, that military Juggernaut. What have they brought to the war? Two donkeys and a hay cart? A couple of 1903 bolt action mausers?

Polish troops

Horseback anti-tank weapons?

I stand corrected.

Oooooo yeah!

I was wanting to check LJ last night just to see if you were ranting yet. :P

My husband and I also felt that Kerry did well in that debate. I don't think either of us really wants him to be president but the more important thing is to not have Bush as president again! He did seem to squirm quite a bit. However we knew that Kerry would handle things better... it's what he does.

Oh, and I was in the kitchen when that thing about Poland came up. Honestly, I'm not big on politics, I don't discuss them much because I know that I don't know what I'm talking about. However, when that was said my head came around that corner with me saying "POLAND, WTF?!" 60 countries behind us... yeah... riiiiiiight... lets count every little island smaller than the state of Texas! Sheesh.

The sad part, Bush will probably win... because that's how much things suck.

Not too much to rant about. Jim Lehrer did a good job, asked them both good questions.

Yah Poland, heh, hard work and our key stratigic alliance with Poland. Poland is known for their famous military genius. (and this coming from a guy with 25% polish liniage and a respect for polish culture)

Dubya got served. No matter what the press is saying, dubya got served.

Look, you cannot disrespect Poland for having a little common sense. They had some troops that were disciplinary problems, all of the death camps were long since decommissioned... Send them to Iraq with the crazy Americans.

I guess my favorite part was the multiple blank stares (including but not limited to the one you mention) as his mental filing cabinet tried despareately to come up with something to say.

I also liked the many funny faces he made as his insulation from the world was torn away.

And thats just exactly what occured. His one sided "I speak from this script that Karl Rove wrote for me and you listen" was not present. He had to stand a deliver on his own, and fell flat on his face.

He had to go toe to toe to toe with John Kerry and Jim Lehrer. Jim was not easy on Kerry either and punched him in the blinkers a couple of times too.

But I'd say Jim gave them equal abuse.

You're missing the point!!!

But you know what creeped me out most about the whole thing?

When they were done and they brought their families onstage and Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Kerry were wearing The Exact Same Dress!!!!

It was freaky.

I think there was some back stage rug munching later on.

It wasn't the exact same dress. They were the same color -- white befits the wife of a dignatary -- and length -- knees are meant to be heard, not seen. But Teresa Heinz Kerry's jacket had an upturned collar, likely the one thumb to the nose of convention her handlers would allow. Nice to see a little Eurotrash background peeking through.
