Ah yes, tonight is the first debate. Steve Sack, the polictical cartoonist for the Minneapolis StarTribune sums it up well.

I do hope dubya shoves his foot in his mouth somehow. I mean if there really is a god....

I'll miss the start of the debate tonight but I do want to catch some of it if I'm able.

I plan on catching it too. I don't know why, all the questions were pre-approved by both parties. It should be stunningly pathetic.

At least one or two good fastballs. But all I expect to see is nice gentle underhand lobs.

Well I just noticed some fun. Look at the cartoon close, you will notice Kerry has two tape cassettes and dubya only one.

I thought it was because Bush is just so damn repetitive. How many times has he told us that "the American people are safer" since the capture of Saddam Hussein or that we've "turned the corner" economically? He only has about ten things to say. Maybe that's all he can memorize at a given time. Kerry's platitudes are more varied.

And shrub only has one cassette tape to reflect that.

at least thats how I take it.

I don't like Kerry, but than again I don't like all this flip flop shit aimed at him. I'd rather have a fellow who can change his mind with the situation changes.

And as far as I can tell, he changes his mind for some very good reasons. Like the famous 87 billion he voted for, then voted against. The real story is that he supported the 87 billion dollar package upon its first draft, then it got loaded with some very nasty pork and he changed his mind at voted against it. I think he did the right thing.

PS.

And dubya's tape deck should have the playskool logo on it.
