Jun. 23rd, 2008 11:11 pmI-94 Reopens After Winds Knock Down Semis, Cows
FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (AP) ¯
Part of Interstate 94 was closed for a few hours near Fergus Falls after high winds blew a couple of semi-trucks off the road.
The National Weather Serviced says straight-line winds of between 70 and 85 mph hit Valley City on Wednesday.
State Patrol Captain Bruce Hentges says winds gusting from 60 to 70 mph blew two semis on their sides. One semi went completely off the road, while the other blocked both lanes of I-94.
The interstate reopened at 3:20 p.m. No one was hurt.
The Barnes County Sheriff's office says a livestock barn 10 miles north of Valley City was destroyed. Authorities say the owner of the barn reported seeing a cow blown in the air by the high winds.
Winds gusted to more than 50 mph at the Fergus Falls airport.
Thus bringing me to the art of cow tipping. Why is cow tipping frowned upon when God him(her)self takes pleasure in flinging the occasional bovine? If I were God, I would smite those who I felt needed smite by raining cows on them.
But back on subject. This event is proof positive that cow tipping will make God love you.

LeAnn is still on the mend and has returned to Sister Kinney for physical therapy to continue the trend. She has been more involved in tasks about the house and even prepared a dinner the other night. I've been riding along with her as she drives short distances, and although I'm happy she is making the attempt, I admit to a fairly tight grip on the dashboard and emergency brake handle.
I made a run out with the Minnesota Airsoft Association with my brother on Saturday for a afternoon of airsoft. I had a super time, my brother seemed a little less excited by the prospect of running around outdoors as opposed to being indoors with a first person shooter video game. He seemed more interested in his iPod and sitting out matches than getting out in the field. God help this newest generation if they get out in the sun, exercise and interact directly with other humans.
Still blocked from LJ at the job. LJ must have a higher profile these days with all the excitement about "inappropriate" content. I mean...lets just hope I don't see any boobies, Harry Potter slash, or an un-american view point, I could be destroyed for life.
