Mar. 31st, 2008 11:28 amSnow. Darn stuff is expected to get around 6-8 inches deep. Although the on the plus side it is melting on contact with the roads, so we get all the pretty snow covered everything, but the roads are only wet. I'd say that’s not a bad deal.
The ignition system on the furnace took a crap yesterday, it looks like the little glow coil that ignites the gas is cracked. Crack in the glow coil = no or reduced electrical flow = no glow = no ignition = system shut down. System shut down is not good, but flowing gas without ignition is even worse, so I'll take the system shutdown any day. However I can ignite the system with a long lighter in place of the coil, but I need to be home to do it. So Standard Heating and Air Conditioning is coming out to replace the part, starting at $99.00 just to ring the doorbell. But I figure it's worth having a professional do the job, it's a simple repair, and if he screws up and something is damaged I'm covered. Kinda a repair insurance thing, so the cost is worth it in my book for the piece of mind. Plus it's probably best to have someone who is trained to work with equipment that uses natural gas under pressure do the work anyways.
Plus, LeAnn's gamma knife procedure is next week, so I don't want to be farting around with stuff. I'd rather be focused on wrapping up loose ends at work, focused on the procedure, and focused on having a normal life before jumping back into the crap. I imagine just being in the vicinity of a hospital will send me into a depresso-panic-anger-self doubt-feel sorry for myself mode.
Last time I was on the verge of a full blown verbal assault upon on campus Jesus-freakery. http://mojocatt.livejournal.com/366357.html
Although I expect none of this is to be had at this time of year.
But if you hear about a group of Mormons sexually assaulted on the UofM campus with an uprooted parking meter, you can probably bet money it was me.
