Mmmm, Nice Weather

What great summer weather in Minnesota, 81 degrees, dewpoint in the 50's. Warm, but not hot, dewpoint low enough not to be sticky...perfect. I had scheduled myself to take the week off from painting the house, but the weather was just too tempting. So Notbatman dropped off my shorter ladders last evening, just as I was about to make my assualt. I had intended on leaving them for the short term, but like I said, the weather was just too tempting to let slide by. But Mr. Notbatman was a real trooper and got them back. On it was to more painting action for the early evening, bit by little bit the house is becoming painted and protected from the weather.

I'd rather go fishing or to the park in such wonderful weather, but I'll take what I can get. Next year it won't be such a priority to get everything done.

Batpeople idea...that left over rubber would make an excellent water garden in your backyard....

The Amendment failed

Well it got shot down. Took them three days to do it, three days I consider wasted time. NPR listed all the other bills waiting for attention, and all of them are more important than writing discrimination into the federal constitution.

It failed 48-50....48 senators lined up to support the one and only amendment that would prohibit a group of people, as opposed to giving a new freedom. Forty eight, they needed 2/3 to do it, but 48 is still waaaaaay too many. 48 senators favor putting a pen to the constitution and adding homophobia as a law. Gives you a real clear picture of how far to the right our government is leaning, and it is scary.
