So I got home and started digging. Seems the vet was cool enought to let Boffy take Chunk home without cremation. Built him a quick litte wooden box and went to get him. Once I unwrapped the blanket he was in and saw his dead body I started balling like a baby. I took him inside to put him in the little box, but he was stiff as a board. I mean you could beat someone over the head with this cat. I started trying to fit him in the box, but everytime I stuck one part in, another would pop back out. So there I am with one stiff cat, a wooden box, balling my fool head off and laughing at the same time.

Eventully I got him completely into the box. Boffy said her goodbyes, we put in a toy mouse and I nailed the cover on. We buried him in the garden under a celetic cross.

And a old dark blue minivan drives by with a very grim driver at the wheel. 20-30% of the exterior of this minivan was covered in NRA stickers. Some stickers were as large as 18 inches by 12 inches, others maybe 2 inches accross. All four sides and hood had pro firearm propaganda.

Now I reasoned that in nature the rattle snake shakes his tail, the puffer fish inflates into a spike covered ball and the cat hisses and raises its fur. These are all warnings to stay away and increase your distance and do not touch. This grim man in the NRA covered blue minivan is simply another example of nature saying "do not touch" I reasoned.

After getting a gander of the beheading of an American contractor and the prison photos last night on the news I am for once thinking we ain't so bad.

I mean, our presence in Iraq is still complete bullshit, but there is a difference between humiliation and horrific. At least in this culture, I understand that the humilitation we inflicted can be worse than death in other cultures, so there are multiple ways of looking at it.

The second point is there is a time to lay down and play the victim. World opinion was clearly stacked against the United States and the United Kingdom (I've been watching the fur fly in the house of commons on C-SPAN). With this beheading, we got a little breathing room. I understand their anger, but politically it was a stupid action. They would have done 5 times the damage by doing nothing.

Seems all sides of this conflict are quite prone to stupidity on a massive scale.
