6:00PM - My watch shift starts, 12 hours here at a emtpy shingle factory. Thats right I will not leave for home until 6:00am.

The usual roar of heavy machinery and gibber of idoits in these four walls is gone tonight. The only sound is the heater fans and the low hum of some transformers.

The usual blinding electric light batteries are off. All you can see in the darkness it the occasional indicator light or computer panel in a sceensaver with the date and time.

I used to be witness to this quite regularly when I worked nights. My favorite time is when there is absolutly nothing going on and nobody here. I am the boss of the facility, with no back talk anywhere in earshot.

Me, just little ol' me in this big ol' place.

One avantage of being at work at midnight? Internet access speed that could strip paint if you laid the network cable on it.
