It is a compulsion, really it is. Subjunctive is one of those things I learned through taking 6 years of Spanish. At least in English - I don't think I could do subjunctive in Spanish if my life depended on it.
If my time in the Appalachian Mountains has taught me anything, it's that there are a lot of molecules floating around that I have been unable to account for.
