Well, the religous right is in my lab, babbling some sort of tech / code speak. About a problem with this document, or that document, an incorrect drawing in a spec book. I am continuly speaking back to him, yup thats great, better get on that, that sounds serious.
Well, as long as it is nothing serious, as
notbatman said eariler...I just don't care.
Thats has been my overall strategy over the past couple of years. If officer hardass brings up a fairly low priority issue, I make sure to give it a very serious look and comment about how serious the...say.... the coffee stain on the page is. "Oh, we better deal with that typo right away, typos are serious business". Where as if it really is a serious issue, a genuine fuck up or oversight on our part, I play it down. "What? That old thing? Must be some sort of mistake, that could never happen".
The plus for me? We have submitted so many trivial issues as high priority (via my poking him along), that no one takes him seriously anymore. So even if a serious issue does arise, I can quickly fix it with little or no feather ruffling on the corprate level.
Took me a few years to learn this little game.
