Nov. 5th, 2008 06:16 pmThis is so strange. I'm reading the news and my jaw is unclenched and I'm relaxed. I had no idea I was wound that tight for the last four years. It's almost an afterglow….without sex**. Kind of a rip off in that sense, but at least I don't need to worry about pregnancy…or clean up.
Aw man, Colin Powell was crying.
Anyways, hello world, we're back and we're just plain old generic assholes again, not multipronged unilateral, military, piss everyone off, Guantanamo Bay type assholes. (well we still are for a little while longer, so enjoy it while you can)
But even with all the optimism sweeping the world, remember that the same people who were scared into reelecting dubya are still here. The fundie right wingers are still there, just waiting to shove their moral code down your throat and spark Armageddon so they can rise to heaven. These people are now quite inflamed that they only recived eight years to make the other 99.85742% of the world population miserable and are already vowing revenge (such good people, they totally remind me of Jesus). 56,009,322 citizens, 46% of the voters, of the United States voted Republican, even after they drove the country into a fearful, hateful, divisive toilet and ran a campaign to further that agenda.
And now, the "Kids Voting USA" results for the Minneapolis Public Scholls. I say fire the adults, let the kids vote instead, they appear to exceed their parents in intelligence by a very wide margin.
