A Desk Vacation
Apr. 26th, 2004 09:05 amI know it is going to be a busy summer when I have to come to work to relax, and it is only spring.
Rowan "slept" in her new "big girl" bed last night. She really wanted her crib, so she was up late and had several wake ups during the night. She used her new found mobility at night to let us know. So, not much in the way of quality sleep for us. But by the time I left for work this morning she was out like a light, figures.
Moving the bed was a complete bitch. The solid oak captains bed the would not turn the corner on the stairs on the way to the second floor of the house. We ended up pulling the monster though a window. Getting it in the window required getting it some ten feet off the ground at a right angle to the house itself. notbatman earlier was a costly mistake and had to call conandammit to help launch the monster off of tenandtonic's truck bed, onto Tartking's waiting hands on a ladder, though the window to me. But damn if it did not work.
Then we were supposed to go get a Hammond organ over atrampion & caveman's, but it was too late and we were too tired to attack another monster. Maybe after the Art-a-whirl.
Then on to fixing a another leak in the basement wall, I think it is sealed for good this time.. Then tear down Rowan's crib for storage, then set up her new bed and rearrange her room. Then move 400 pounds of sand and refill Rowan's new sandbox fromjanezy. Vaccum cleaner my ass!
And this is just the start of my projects for this summer.....I still have remodeling the bathroom and kitchen, finish painting and repairing the trim and windows outside and then painting the stucco.
