Like I've been busy and stuff. Insane busy, today is my first slow day in over week, I plan on slacking all day.

I was involved in a new product trial and developing a new test method last week. Then a Saturday visit to help [livejournal.com profile] caveman fix his house and sexually aggravate his wife [livejournal.com profile] rampion, I swear oak window trim just gives that poor lady the hots, I doubt if Caveman got any sleep that night...all that oak trim you know. Seriously I worked on the oak trim around the library windows, a very tedious project considering the window frame did not match the drywall in any way, shape or form. The fact that is was so tedious and time consuming was holding up the entire project, so I decided to tackle it. The solution? Rip strips off of some old folding closet doors that were marked for fire pit duty and make shims with the stained surface facing the exposed area around the window. It worked remarkably well. I only ran into one snag that stopped my progress cold while putting the trim around the door, and that will be delt with this Friday or Saturday....I assume?

This week I have been on the road to Rochester, a swing through the western burbs of Minneapolis and a trip to Stillwater. Like I said, today I am the king of slack, I shall slack all day long.

On my return trip from Stillwater I picked up a Clam 5600 ice fishing shelter.

Room for two, three if the the occupants are very friendly. So join me if you wish this year, as I have room to share now. I'll post when and where I plan to go once we have some ice. Last year I was able to make my first trip on the ice on December 15th, maybe sooner this year if the cold weather holds. Lake Independence to the West of Minneapolis seems like my most likely candidate to visit this year.

Edit: Oh, and does anyone have a GPS unit I can borrow for the winter? I plan on buying one, but already spent all the money I plan on spending on ice fishing gear this year.

And caveman is out buying oak baseboard for the library right now. Just thinking about him in that lumberyard, surrounded by all that woodwork...but no, I have to wait until he gets home...
