Sep. 23rd, 2008 07:38 pmFor the first time in my life I think I have genuine concern for the economy. I also find myself with nothing to say on the matter that I can personally support.
There should have been more oversight!
How do you oversee unrestrained greed in a capitalist market?
There should have been less regulation!
We should have watched these assholes less?
Don't bail out the big guys!
Just sit by and watch the economy collapse?
Save the banks bail them out!
And reward them for poor judgment?
Bail out the homeowners who got in over their head!
And what about the ones who made careful choices in the matter? Oh, we reward you by letting you continue to pay off your 30 year mortgage on your reduced value property. Good boy, good boy, sit, roll over, good booooyyyy.
Quick! Make the dubya's plan law! Quick!
Yeah, we all know what happens when we don't read the fine print in a dubya plan……
I find myself more in more in favor of letting the shit hit the fan than rewarding irresponsible behavior. I might regret it, but the pain will probably be a lesson we need to endure. America needs to face the music someday. If dubya thinks it's a good idea, you can bet it's a bad idea with a high degree of certainty based on his record.
It's hard to lay blame for this at any one set of feet. But judging by the record, the current executive branch only had one item left to reach the status of "complete and total fuck-up of every aspect of the country". An elusive goal never before reached by any administration, but actively pursued by dubya since the year 2000. With only a couple of months left he might just get there.
Where is BeanBoy when we need him! Save us BeanBoy!
