"Quite frankly, we don't want the remains of our service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice to be the subject of any kind of attention that is unwarranted or undignified," said John Molino, a deputy undersecretary of defense.
Open letter to John Molion:
Attention Pentagon Fuckhead-
People are being shipped home in wooden boxes and you expect that I should not pay attention?
What exacly is is undignified about a flag draped coffin? Unless of course, you are uncertain of why the sam fuck these people died in Iraq? That your boss is an idiot? That people might be killed in a war? What? What is it?

Date: 2004-04-24 08:23 pm (UTC)in my mind the American Flag ad nauseum gets on my nerves, but I'm well aware of the fact that that is nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction.
Undignified? Doesn't really factor into the equation. I think i'm oversensitive to fanaticism on any level. Ironically I'm also competitive as hell.
The real issue here is whether or not people get to see what is really happening in this war - death and destruction. And the feelings that that reality arouses.
The imagination is a powerful majick. We all have one.
