Did we get caught with our pants down?
Or did we see the guy sneaking up to pants us and ignore him?
Or did we drop our pants when no one was looking and pretended to have been pantsed?
None of these questions will ever actually be answered, mind you, but the raving lunatics make a lot more sense than I wish they did, sometimes.
As for world war, I've taken the stance that it's more or less inevitable, at this point, and have reverted to my old Cold War mentality where life, as we know it, could end abruptly at any moment. I'm not letting it govern my life, I'm just working on acceptance.
